Electronic control presentation
Welcome to the High Security Department of the Women's Prison.
Warden: - On our tour, the trusted prisoner Sara is with us. She has lived in the High Security department for 10 years and is now assigned the task of transporting visitors in this department.
Visitors have the opportunity to ask questions to the inmate, who will answer your questions to the best of her knowledge.
prisoner: -Welcome to presentation, so I'm prisoner Sara and I'm trying to explain what life is like in this ward. At the same time, I will also introduce a new control tool that is supposed to improve the conditions inside the prison.
Visitor: - So you are a prisoner in this department, I can see that you have legcuffs and some kind of prisoner uniform. Are you otherwise free to tour with us unsupervised?
prisoner: - I am a prisoner who serves a sentence here like the others, but I have now served 10 years flawlessly and thus I have been "promoted" to a trusted prisoner.
Guard: -the prisoner is under the "Electronic Leash" every moment. I have a remote control with which I can give electric shocks to the collar on the prisoner's neck. There are normally three different levels in use... the "reminder" level which causes the prisoner a nasty feeling in the neck, the second level causes an already very unpleasant electric shock and the third level causes a paralyzing electric shock.
The guard showed the remote control and pressed the middle button. the prisoner immediately gave up and would have fallen if she hadn't been supported by the wall. The prisoner had to lean against the wall to recover from the shock, tears falling from her eyes.
Guard: - this was a demonstration of the second level, believe me, You don't want to see what happens in the highest level shock!
Curious visitor: - what happens then?
Guard: - rapid loss of consciousness, uncontrolled fall, the prisoner may mess herself up, etc. Recovery from complete paralysis can take a very long time.
The prisoner can start a demonstration of other features of the "electronic leash".
The prisoner gathered herself after a surprising electric shock and stood again without the support of the wall.
prisoner: - Almost all prisoners have a collar like this. They have many functions. Perhaps the simplest function is that the collar recognizes loud sounds. It means that if the prisoner raises her voice, she will receive an electric shock. A normal voice is allowed, but shouting is not. the sound level can be adjusted on a case-by-case basis.
Visitor: - how low can the sound level be adjusted?
Guard: - the sound level can be adjusted so low that it allows normal breathing but not even quiet talking.
Visitor: What if the prisoner coughs?
Guard: - that's not a good thing. But as said, the sound level can be adjusted as needed.
prisoner: - The next and perhaps the most important feature is that the prisoners' collars "recognize each other's distance. This means that if the prisoners are at a distance of two meters from each other, the collar gives a warning, unpleasant electric shock to the neck. A distance of one meter already causes a strong electric shock, and a distance of half a meter gives a crippling, hard electric shock.
Guard: - The collars and their use have calmed down the department's life impressively. Prisoners cannot go near each other without being electrocuted. nor can they shout at each other or at us guards.
Visitor: -this is very impressive! So the collars are secured and locked around the prisoners' necks, they cannot be removed? Then why legcuffs?
Guard:- Legcuffs are part of control, They also make a sound when they move, so we always know where the prisoner is moving.
As you can see, for example our prisoner also has a steel belt to which handcuffs etc. can be attached if the situation requires it. For example, in connection with collar maintenance and battery replacement.
Guard: - one more feature, the collar can be programmed with a "loop" that covers the areas that are allowed for prisoners. For example, cells and the lounge area near them are allowed. If the prisoner exceeds the set limit, she will immediately receive an electric shock.
