those bar cells... boring...
That solitary cell... much better.. I have seen one video clip and few images... this starts to be secure... when opening the solid door, there is some space... and then you see bars and behind that, small area where are multiple attachment points.
I think the image what I saw had lady chained to a back wall from heavy collar. ( Too bad there was no chain to the ceiling...)
Legs were spread wide and attached to shackles used to connect right leg to right side wall and left leg to left wall as were her hands with short change so could not touch face or play with herself....
Too bad she did not have additional set of leg restraints, which would have been locked in the floor same for hands... and this prolly would not qualify as overkill...
I remember they had to close that place for some time due to fires that raged in that area.

The effect of the Isolation Cell is increased by the fact that it is behind several locked doors.
There can be effective restraints inside the cell. They are for the prisoner's best because then prisoner cannot hurt him-/herself in any situation.
The use of restraints is good foresight.

I wonder if it strange to want cell like that to be the permanent starting cells. Not the basic bar cell which have always felt boring to me. Cell with at least 2 doors... I so freaking hate my "Houdini" mind. Cell with no windows...

That was one of the pictures, which made me fall in love for the day gate, in isolation cell. For extra preventative measure, to prevent escape attempts...
Then shackles.. attached to walls and chain from the ceiling to the collar, to prevent even more the of the escape attempts but mainly, giving safety to the guards, that prisoner have very limited capabilities to attack or try to snatch keys etc. Mainly to protect guards from prisoners violent behavior, since guard can never know, if the prisoner is gonna attack or not, so those are for guards safety, not prisoners.
